On 21 August 2014, Netherland’s-based EPC, Arcadis submitted a US$477 million bid for UK-based Hyder Consulting. This represents Arcadis’ second bid after its $425 million was topped by Nippon Koei’s US$445 million offer on 11 August 2014.
Hyder’s 2013 revenues, totaling US$472 million, were drawn geographically from the UK (30%), Middle East (30%), and Australia (26%). The company currently employs approximately 4,200 people and has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since October 2002.
On the 13 July 2014, Los Angeles-based AECOM announced its intention to acquire San Francisco-based URS Corporation for US$6 billion. The combined company, which is expected to be completed in October 2014, will be a fully integrated infrastructure and services provider with more than 95,000 employees in 150 countries.
