From February 2021 through May 2022, the European Commission approved Member State payment requests as part of its Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) with a budget of €385.8 billion in loans and €338.0 billion in grants. These funds provide investments and reforms to manage the lasting economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. €13.1 billion of the RRF will be allocated to water-related programs.
